3. Macaws — How do you blend in when you’re as brightly colored as a rainbow? Live in the rainforest like Macaws! Although their bright colors seem conspicuous to us, they camouflage these beautiful birds when they are next to the green leaves, red and yellow fruits and bluish shadows of the rainforests. There are more than 10 living species of macaw, but poaching for the caged bird trade and deforestation has already caused one species to go extinct and endangered many more. All three species pictured can be found in Brazil. The blue one on the left is a Hyacinth Macaw and is the largest flying parrot. Sadly, it is also one of the most endangered.
