25. Pony — Since they live in herds, you would expect horses to be friendly to one another. But you might be surprised to learn that horses form lasting “friendships” with particular members of their herd that involve spending lots of time together over their lifetime much the same way we do. The females seem to especially enjoy spending time with their friends and engaging in mutual grooming. They stand beside each other, head to tail and scratch each others neck and back with their teeth for a pampering befitting a princess. We don’t know anyone else that likes to be treated like a princess, do we?
